Grammy Dude and closed mountain passes

Good snow fall, closed roads.

Grammy Dude in front of his wall of fame.

The day I visited the shop Grammy Dude was working on the Latin Grammy's. What a cool place. He also makes the "John Wooden" tropy and a million other things. This country is just chock full of interesting places...and people

SuperVan will be lodging in Montrose Colorado for 3 weeks, so I am on the road again, heading south towards New Mexico and more hot springs, and more wildlife and more.....

This area of Colorado got a good snow today and the passes are closed in all directions (Red Mountain and Lizard Head) so I am nestled in for the night at Ridgway CO, which turns out to be where John "Grammy Dude" Billings has his shop, so I had to stop.

first off i have enjoyed this whole blog thing; good to follow you and fun to read.
i notice a little drop off in the length of your writings and less detail. like, what the hell are you driving? more hot springs? excellent call esp. with the cooler weather... now try staying at one overnite. there will come a point where you are too tired to keep your head above water and you will finally muster the will to brave the cold transition period as you jump outta the hot water into cold air and try to dry off superfast so you can jump into your freezing sleeping bag... often as not, you are so wide awake after the transition you get back in the hot spring again... (don't get back in, it is a trick!)

2 things: the grammy dude looks like he could be your uncle.

go out today and get your self some of those iron oxide hand warmers at a local store or a walmart or anywhere... PUT ONE OR TWO IN YOUR SLEEPING BAG AT NITE AND YOU WILL LOVE IT (NOW STAY AT A HOT SPRING AND DON'T FORGET TO SHAKE AND ACTIVATE THE WARMERS IN YOUR BAG BEFORE YOU SOAK)
