I remember reading about these "controlled fires" back in my conservation study days. They are everywhere and the smoke is pretty intimidating. Though there are numerous signs reminding that these are prescribed control fires that should not be reported, I must say I was tempted, as a good and conscientious citizen, wait no I am not, to report them.
