Sunrise at Craters of the Moon, Arco Idaho

As I was reviewing the maps last night I realized that I really wanted to go to Redwood National Forest. Friend Laura emailed that I should do a little more research into the closing. It turns out the Tall Tree Drive is open on the weekends so I made a command decision to get up before sunrise and hit the road to cover the 800+ miles by tomorrow afternoon or Sunday morning, depending on number of rest stops.

I watched the sun rise over a park called Craters of the Moon. It is a very large lava field in the middle of Idaho. I hope the pre-sunrise silhouette photo comes out because I like it.
